Overview
During my early years as a designer, I had the privilege of working with Heineken and several of its sub-brands, including Sol, Heineken, Murphy's Stout, and Coors Light. As a UI designer, my work on these projects was primarily digitally focused, with most of my attention on app design. In 2015, brands were eager to break into the app space, aiming to get their presence on every device.
One notable project was the Murphy's Stout app, which gamified user interaction with Cork-based content, allowing users to earn free pints of Murphy's Stout through app engagement.
Similarly, I worked on the award-winning Coors Light Rocky Mountain Game, designed for high engagement. This interactive game featured a leaderboard, where over-18 players could win and redeem free pints of Coors at their local pubs. The UI had to be carefully crafted, and this was my first experience with app submissions on iTunes and Google Playstore, which proved to be a valuable learning curve.
I also had the opportunity to collaborate on Sol, a brand with a very edgy and innovative image. I supported a lead creative designer in developing the forward-thinking Sol Search platform, which was well ahead of its time in 2016. It was a custom search engine that allowed Sol's target audience to discover trendy places to eat and drink.
