Background

Overview

During my 8 years at Kooba, one of my key relationships has been with Repak. As Head of Design, I initially faced a UX challenge: increasing conversions on a landing page to drive sign-ups for Team Green, a campaign encouraging users to pledge to recycle. This project marked our first collaboration with Repak, and the success of the landing page led to us being awarded the redesign of their main website.

The Challenge

The original website was outdated, difficult to navigate, visually confusing, and not responsive. A redesign promised a significant impact, and looking at what has been achieved to date, the transformation has been remarkable. Our design team not only revamped the website aesthetically but also placed strong emphasis on metrics and accessibility. Each quarter, we realigned the design based on ongoing consumer and member research to ensure continuous improvement.

Over the past four years, as Head of Design, my focus has been on driving digital innovation for Repak's campaigns, while contributing to a multi-agency environment to help achieve KPIs for their website.

Focus

Fast Forward

Now as a Design Director in 2024, Repak's strategy shifted, prompting an overhaul of the website. We conducted workshops to determine the best direction for reorganising their ecosystem, including the Pakman Awards section, and prepared the website for the next two years, anticipating future campaigns and scalability. A comprehensive UX audit guided our decisions and vision for this redesign.

The Team

I had the pleasure of being a hands-on lead designer while also managing a team of talented designers over the years. Recently, my focus has shifted towards managing both UX and Visual Designers, guiding and directing their overall strategy.
